Mrs. Kelley received her B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has five years of high school level teaching experience and has served with her husband, Pat, on the SMCS Board for many years. As the Principal, Mrs. Kelley enjoys the daily opportunity to be used by God to further the mission of SMCS. She enjoys working in a positive, nurturing environment where the staff is great, the students are eager to learn, and the parents and Board are involved and supportive.





Mrs. Davis received her Bachelor's in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. She has held various positions in her field, and feels blessed that it has led her to SMCS. Mrs. Davis grew up on Signal Mountain and currently resides on the mountain. She is married to love of her life, Josh, and has three daughters and a newborn son.



Mrs. Rolen graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor’s in Finance and Marketing. After working in banking for a couple years, she earned her Master’s in Middle Grades Education, specializing in Math and Science, from the University of Georgia. She taught 6th grade science for several years in Dalton, Georgia before starting a family. She and her husband, Bart, have two daughters who keep them very busy.



Having grown up in Atlanta, GA, Laurel came to the Chattanooga area to attend Covenant College. She graduated from Covenant in 2000 with a degree in Education. She taught a year in Trenton before teaching 2nd grade for five years at Chattanooga Christian School. She married T. W. in 2003 and the Lord blessed them with three children, Thomas, an SMCS alum, Noah, and Bella. Laurel left teaching full time to be a Mom when Thomas was born and has enjoyed being back in the classroom on a part time basis. She loves the heart of SMCS, relishes investing in students, and counts it a true privilege to teach Library and serve as a substitute teacher. Their family worships at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. 



Andrea is a 1999 graduate of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. After graduating, Andrea and her husband spent the next fifteen years in Western Kentucky. During a portion of that time, Andrea worked for the local school system providing support services inside the classroom to help students with special needs be successful in a class setting. Andrea’s physical therapy background allowed her frequent opportunities to teach students in the field and to work with the local community college guest lecturing. Andrea and her family relocated in the summer of 2014 to Signal Mountain. Little did she know, God was weaving together a wonderful story that would lead to substitute teaching at SMCS and eventually to teaching Kindergarten full-time in 2017. Andrea finds it a joy to work daily with Kindergarteners because they love deeply, are eager to learn, give the best hugs, and remind her daily of the awesome God we serve. She finds it a privilege to be able to point children back to Our Creator in all things. Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband, Allen, and their three children who keep them very busy. 



Miss Souder is a graduate of Belhaven University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Minor in Dance.  She grew up on Signal Mountain and while she has been teaching at SMCS for one year, she is no stranger to the school. Miss Souder attended SMCS grades K - 7.  Her dream was to return to SMCS to teach.  She loves to nurture her student's individuality and unique creativity.  She enjoys spending time with her twin sister, crocheting, laughing with friends and dancing!



Mrs. Stewart has been teaching at SMCS since 2013. She is thrilled to be able to help her young students understand more fully who God is and how much He loves them. She graduated from Mississippi College, with a B.S. Ed in 1988. Her husband, Joey, is a pastor.  Serving as a pastor's wife for 17 years, Mrs. Stewart homeschooled their children and started a homeschool co-op in which she had administrative and teaching responsibilities. Along with teaching first grade at SMCS, she teacher alongside her husband at RYM and for women's retreats.  Mrs. Stewart is so grateful for her four children and loves days when all of her precious family is under one roof.



Miss Hannah graduated from Lipscomb University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was born and raised in Chattanooga and is very involved in serving with the youth ministry at Calvary Chapel.  Miss Hannah looks forward to seeing her SMCS students grow academically and also in their relationship with the Lord.

2nd Grade


Mrs. Harrison grew up on Signal Mountain and received a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She taught kindergarten for 5 years before starting a family, then taught preschool for 5 years before coming to SMCS. She enjoys teaching students about the loving, faithfulness of God through all subject matter. She and her husband, Frank, have two teenage daughters. They enjoy spending time together doing anything outside, especially hiking and camping with their golden retriever, Bella.



Mrs. Smith graduated from Campbell University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She completed several courses towards her Master’s degree, specializing in reading. Prior to teaching here at SMCS, Mrs. Smith taught for four years on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Mrs. Smith encourages her students to “trust in the Lord with all their hearts” and to “work as if working for the Lord” (Prov. 3:5, Col. 3:23). She implements a hands-on approach as she engages students in exploring the world around them. Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sweet girls.



Mrs. Thompson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in middle grades education and also completed a master’s degree in health education. She has over 10 years teaching experience in public, private, and home school settings. She values being able to share God’s love with students by striving to teach well and to attend to each student’s needs. Mrs. Thompson is an avid reader, and she enjoys exploring the outdoors. She and her husband, Kevin, are blessed with two teenagers who bring delight to their lives with their wide-ranging interests and spunky conversation.



Miss Fellers received her B.S. from the University of Montevallo and her Masters in Education from Covenant College. She has taught elementary school for over 20 years; she began teaching fourth grade with SMCS in 2001. Miss Fellers also is the director of SMCS’ After-School Program. Her class focuses on rich literature and a hands-on approach to learning that includes the maintenance of a bird garden for the school. She seeks to help her students understand that the Bible is much more than history but applies to every aspect of their lives today.



Mrs. Hayes has degrees from Bowling Green State University and Arizona Christian University.  After homeschooling her youngest of two daughters, she served as a 2nd grade teacher at Trinity Classical Christian Academy in Phoenix and as a teacher at Legacy Classical Christian Academy where she taught various subjects including literature, writing, and ancient civilizations.  For the next five years, she served at BASIS Peoria as an aide, registrar, assistant to the Head of School and 5th grade teacher.  Her most recent employment was at Adams Traditional Academy in Phoenix teaching 7th graders.  Mrs. Hayes has a passion for anything Jane Austen and cherishes time with each of her grown daughters and her husband.  She desires to share her love of learning with children, particularly when she can help them gain knowledge and wisdom from Scripture to deepen their love for their Creator and to know He has a plan and purpose for their lives.
