Volunteer Opportunities
Both parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s education and to assist in improving the school by volunteering for any combination of the following activities:
1. Assisting the teacher upon his or her request given adequate notice;
2. Teaching specific skills or performing presentations in the classroom;
3. Planning and supervising outside activities and field trips;
4. Coordinating fundraisers for the school as approved by the SMCS Board;
5. Substitute teaching in the scheduled absence of the teacher;
6. Participating in parent workdays;
7. Serving on a Standing Board Committee; and
8. Research or special projects in a parent’s area of expertise or field given mutual
9. agreement of the parent and the teacher.
