Volunteer Opportunities
Both parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s education and to assist in improving the school by volunteering for any combination of the following activities:
*Assisting the teacher upon his or her request given adequate notice;
*Teaching specific skills or performing presentations in the classroom;
*Planning and supervising outside activities and field trips;
* Coordinating fundraisers for the school as approved by the SMCS Board;
* Substitute teaching in the scheduled absence of the teacher;
*Participation in parent workdays;
*Serving on a Standing Board Committee; and
* Research or special projects in a parent’s area of expertise or field given mutual agreement of the parent and the teacher.
